Hallows Eve formed in 1983 hailing from Atlanta, GA this trash metal deluxe song debut “Metal Merchants,” made its way onto the Metal Massacre Vol. 6 series two years later. The band comprised of Stacy Anderson (Vocals) Dave Stuart and Steve ‘Skullator” Shoemaker (Guitarists) along with Tommy Stewart (Bass) and Ronny Appoldt (Drums). They released their debut “Tales of Terror,” which brought pure brutality and later came fourth with “Death & Insanity,” (1986) and “Monument,” (1988). After the success of their first set of LP’s the band re-formed in 2004 with plans to create and unleash a new record, “Evil Never Dies,” (2005) came about and brought Hallows Eve back into the open later making “History of Terror,” a Best Of compilation. The passed years has brought glory and success to Hallows Eve but how much of that success can withstand with their newest addition, “The Never Ending Sleep”? First off it consists of 10-tracks and was produced by Doyle Bright of Rigor Mortis and is said to be “a conscious effort to achieve the feel and sound of “Tales of Terror,” (1985) and “Death and Insanity,” (1986),” according to bassist Tommy Steward. “The Never Ending Sleep,” has a variety of tracks worth checking out, “Dance Of The Dead,” comes into affect displaying the classic pacing riffs and solos that make your head twist with fear. The drums are fast and intense in “Bed Of Nails,” which thunderous thrash metal force hits you hard its vocals echoing long and wide with the guitar riffs echoing just as far, breaking out into a killer non-stop solo that shows true effort. “Through Dark And Dawn,” and “The Sun Must Die,” each track’s introduction has its own creative way of showing itself off. The stormy night and glimpse of “Through Dark And Dawn,’ shows the fear and scares you right out of your shoes making you shiver with pure fright as it takes forever for dawn to arrive. When “The Sun Must Die,” this song goes well with the brutal heat wave we receive this passed summer, having us all want to brutality destroy the sun! It’s roaring rough introduction breaks through with a non-stop fast going guitar solo with balancing drumming skills as the vocals bring on the same sense as “Through Dark And Dawn,” presented. All in all Hallows Eve return of “The Never Ending Sleep,” doesn’t at all put you to slumberland but awakens you and doesn’t let you get one weak of sleep, bringing you nothing but nightmares.
